But she is so sweet and she is a member of the *GFOFHAVV** church

Hey, its fluffy news from yahoo, and the chicks dig the fluffy news from yahoo.,

The average American male is 5’9” and weighs 195lbs. The average American female is 5’4” and weighs 165lbs.

No, I didn’t trace the cord to the wall to check the source for that heavy news. But all my cylinders started firing at the prospect of having that as a fact to carry around in case I need it.

A couple of things….

  • 1.) Women are driving diet trends among all socioeconomic groups. From the urban single baby mama welfare queen who chooses one end of the spectrum, to the rural under resources who eat supposedly horrible diets high in starches and fatty meats, to a growing quorum of the rest of the middle class and up who are driving a trend with blinders to reality that are no different than the blinders worn by strident blue pill men and women, Finally, THE woman, the first one, Michelle Obama, she is driving school lunches towards the aforementioned trends. I heard an example school lunch menu being read over the radio. There were vegetables listed that I had never heard of. I’m so out of touch I still cannot hear a young mother proudly bleating about how her kids get edemame for snacks at home and on road trios they kiddos nosh on some sort of stone rock pebble grain ground glutin free etc. etc.crackers with…..wait for it…..hummus dip. Lucky buggers.

The average American woman is 5’4″ and weights 164 lbs.

  • 2.)The debate about weight and sex in marriage rages in places like Christian forums. The women there and the demographic they represent are , like number 1.) above says, driving diet trends.. They will vehemently  defend a woman’s right to be fat. When the topic of sexual denial is raised, they rush to say, “men do it too:. In fact yesterday I read yet another article by some female Dr. Dalrock has been tangling with that said its a growing problem that men are denying women sex. Call me whip quick or dumb as a bag of hair, but don’t accuse me of not trying to see some cause and effect here regarding men denying sex to wives. Christian women are ardently defensive of the overweight sisters, not just the few extra pounds, that’s another side trick they try for distraction. I ask is it any wonder (reasons and excuses are not the same) this trend exists when…

  1. edemame for snacks

I know that those are immature soybeans only because I watch too much anime.

The average American woman is 5’4″ and weights 164 lbs.

I’m always horrified and mystified when I read that. Because after I contemplate the fact that the average American woman is shorter than me and 50lbs heavier than me, the question that comes to my mind is “How do you let yourself get like that?”

  2. 5’4″ and 165? That’s crazy. No way I’m telling my weight, but at 5’9″ myself, that 195 for men is pretty appalling as well.

I keep waiting for you to get that food rant post that I sense out of your system. You keep alluding to it but you hold back, LOL.

  3. And all the sexual denial? If most people’s spouses are that fat, no wonder they aren’t feeling it.

  4. @ Alla

You are taller than I reckoned. Interesting. For some reason I had some mental image of you as being on the petite side, rather than tall and slender.

    @ Elspeth

Crazy is one word for it. Every day I come across young women who might look decent, if not actually pretty, were it not for the fact that they are 30 to 60 pounds overweight (and that is being generous). I’ll be honest, there are few things which are a worse turn-off for me than a woman being overweight.

As for me, I’m both taller and less heavy than the male average here. And I’m sure I have more muscle mass as well.

    @ Empath

Short and sweet post (pun intended).

The food rant post is in the hopper. The problem is it grows, and grows, because there is easily as much to rant about as there is in the manosphere on our own issues. Plus, on that subject, I get to experience what red pill pioneers must have felt.

5’9″ and 195 pounds on a man is, by the insurance industry tables, 20 pounds overweight. But practically speaking it is not even in the same galaxy of bad ratios as the women’s average. I am 5’9″ (and some change, I add that like a kid says they are 8 and a half) and have weighed as much as 185. Today, 170-175 and very stable. But when I weighed 185 it was not visually offputting, I had men older than me, as I still do these days, giving me grief about my flat stomach. Those days there was some extra but it was not discernible in cloths I wear to work. Also, when I hit 185 was in 2000 when, prior to going to Hawaii for 10 year anniversary I attended a personal trainer studio for 6 months and was in the best shape Ive ever been in. A 5’9″ man can carry 195 more readily than a 5’4″ women can carry 165, or even 150.

These are averages. I suspect there is a coincident distribution to weight as there is to say, IQ, where men tend to reside more on the extremes and women cluster to the average. This makes the average easier to shift for the women , hence the difference in the numbers listed.

  6. Elspeth, I haven’t been 195 since I got out of college and my shoulders filled out. 5’11 no body fat and got called “Bean Pole” in high school I tipped the scales at 180 and had 7 minutes mile averages in the half-marathon. 215 would be my optimal weight now…..but it’s real work to get there. Different body types and all. Saying that I know that I’m more than fluffy and don’t have a problem admitting it’s a problem. All of that fat messes with our hormones

Fat and edemame, both “good” ways for guys to boost their estrogen (and feel yucky).

  7. Like the subject of porn this stuff is so obvious. The conversation is controlled by women. Men should be ashamed even bringing it up (according to them). Umm no sweeties, if we’re going to be accused of being “patriarchal” we’re going to talk about what we please, and not be embarrassed by it. Try growing out a beard and see what type of looks and commentary you get. They aren’t afraid to give their opinion when it’s none of their business.

This statistic about men vs women and weight qualitatively hit me when my older kids were little and I coached boys youth baseball .
The very young boys had moms at practice, not dads, and these moms universally were , well they had big…….and I cannot lie. They yakked about food the entire practice, but not like they do today. These moms were yakking about fast food options. I remember having as big an issue with them as I do with the food nazis today, neither seem to see that sitting at home and eating home cooked food was best, for health and for the family. So, like these things do in the American hyper I can control my life and when I will die and if my kids get cancer or their kids are Autistic, and on and on, they swung to the religiosity i describe.

I’ll dole out another piece for Elspeth here because i love it when sometimes something i suspect turns out to be true. Everyone has heard those ad council ads where the guy who is maybe a pro golfer, and he lists a series of odds about his success, gazillion to one. Then gravely states that autism now has odds of 1 in 110. This gets the anti vaccine folks vibrating so fast they are invisible. I thought it smelled funny.

Last week I found the smoking gun The DSM manual update, DSM 5 will begin excluding lots of autism diagnosis that the DSM 4 grabbed in catch all form and created all manner of new ways to call someone autistic. Imagine how the vaccine opponents will feel when those ad council ads need to be taken down. People who are bright folks for some reason just grab information handed them about stuff like this and never think, Really? 1/110? They think , yea, little Joey has Aspergers and so forth. Read some parenting forums and you’ll find another thing if you really look. Aspergers became a diagnosis some seemed to actually like, in a twisted way because of the expression “high-functioning”

The moms and dads at todays youth sports, where I am too, the middle age guy with the 8 year old, are all yammering about edemame and celiac and glutin and genetic engineered seeds and local grown and field-to-fork. The ones that are fit have changed because now they are more fit, in that -I go to the gym see my swollen arms fill my tight shirt” way men are, and that vascular and intense thin skinned marathon runner look the women take on. But the number of fit parents is not noticeably higher. No matter, they are all on board. And me, the curmudgeon, I’m an outsider to be sure, but I am, at 51, more fit than 80% of them. And edemame only made it into my home by way of my 23 year old daughter smuggling it in during the night.

Vasc. I mean no disrespect for your hobby of body building. Im not really referring to that when i cite these dads in their mid 30’s and how they look. They do not have the dedication your group would have, and there is nothing wrong with being fit, training, gym attendance, thats mentioned as context, I do some of those things too and always have.

  9. I messed my shoulder up working on my mom’s well-house, which put me off of my push-up/kettle regimen. Feeling like crap all year hasn’t helped. Sun is coming back now so my motivation is improving and the bursa in my shoulder has settled down. I can’t believe what an incredibly crap year I’ve had, God is still good though.

I’ve met Empath, and it’s true: Empath is fit and looks no more than mid-40s. It’s sick, when you think about it.

As for myself, I changed my routine a couple years ago. Pall Malls are cheaper than Marlboros.

  11. My husband is 6’2″ and currently carrying about 230 pounds, and it is not visually off putting. He eats healthfully and works out too. The tables say he should be 190, but that would be visually off putting to me. He looks best at 210.

Lest I seem to be holier than thou on this issue, I need to lose 20 pounds myself. I can’t seem to bring myself to stop baking the bread that *they* say is the stumbling block to my ultimate goal. Fortunately being tall with a frame that is more generous with distribution the pounds helps.

I remember having as big an issue with them as I do with the food nazis today, neither seem to see that sitting at home and eating home cooked food was best, for health and for the family. It can be rather grating. Balance in all things, but people like extremes. If a little bit of a good thing is good, a ton must be better.

  12. Pall Malls are the antithesis of , what, Benson Hedges?

And Cane really is 6’4″ or so. My best childhood friend from K -12 and an through life to the present is 6’4″ , 2 college friends are 6’6″ and 6’11” respectively , I got that advice all wrong about if you want to look thin….I seem to want to look short

  13. “Benson Hedges”

My sister used to smoke those.

Speaking of height: My daughter just started a new job today. Like me, she’s 5’9″ and at the first interview she wore heels. The woman who interviewed her interpreted a girl her height in heels as “confidence”, and said so.

My daughter thought that was just stupid. She just liked the shoes and since it never seemed as if my height was a reason not to wear heels, it never occurred to her that her height was a reason to avoid heels.

The second interview was with two men, and when they stood she towered over them both, and wondered if the heels were a mistake. They hired her, so apparently not.

  14. Those church members roll their own, or the lazy ones smoke those Spirit brand that claim to be all organic

    LOL.

  15. @Empath

About various types of smokers, but I’m over it now. I have 138 (I think) published posts, and already another 97 unpublished.

  16. @Donal: You are taller than I reckoned. Interesting. For some reason I had some mental image of you as being on the petite side, rather than tall and slender.

Well, I frequently forget I’m actually fairly tall, working with horses and living with people over 6 feet tall will do that to you. Also the only people around here who have seen pictures of me have always seen me compared to NSR who is well over ten inches taller than me and built fairly broad.

@Empath: They yakked about food the entire practice, but not like they do today. These moms were yakking about fast food options. I remember having as big an issue with them as I do with the food nazis today, neither seem to see that sitting at home and eating home cooked food was best, for health and for the family.

I’ll never understand how people miss the most obvious conclusion. Especially when the facts don’t support their (very contrived, complicated) conclusion. Then again people baffle me in a myriad of other ways as well.
